Hope II by Klimt
Hope II is a painting by Gustav Klimt, made in 1907-1908. It was the second of Klimt's works to focus on a pregnant woman, both depicting Herma, one of his favorite models. The square painting measures 110.5 by 110.5 centimeters (43.5 in × 43.5 in). The women occupy the middle third of the painting, with a darker gold mottled background on either side. The woman's clothing, decorated with gold leaf like a Byzantine work of art and richly colored and decorated, but flat like an Orthodox icon, contrasts with the delicately painted and shaped human faces and naked flesh, and also with the darker tones of the background
This figurine representing Klimt's masterpiece measures 24 cm (9.45 in.)
