Klimt's Embrace
The embrace is a painting by Gustav Klimt, made between 1905 and 1909.
It is part of the Tree of Life series, a work consisting of three panels
The painting is made in the "golden style", defined in this way given the notable presence of gold in the background and in the subject. [1] It represents a man and a woman in the act of embracing. The young woman's expression is one of almost abandonment towards the man's shoulder, turned from behind. The decorations of the clothes vary: on the man's clothes there are larger and squared off subjects, in a stylized and linear tunic; the woman's dress is wavy and soft with more minute and refined decorations. The background is made up of golden spirals on a yellow-orange background.
