The Capitoline Wolf 

The Capitoline Wolf (Italian: Lupa Capitolina) is a bronze sculpture of the mythical she-wolf suckling the twins, Romulus and Remus, from the legend of the founding of Rome 

The Capitoline Wolf is a bronze sculpture, of uncertain dating, preserved in the Capitoline Museums. Almost life-size, the twins below were added in the 15th century and have been attributed to the sculptor Antonio del Pollaiolo. Traditionally it is considered to be of Etruscan manufacture, it is believed that it was cast in the lower Tiber valley and that it has been in Rome since ancient times (S. Giovanni in Laterano)
